Abstract Submission Guidelines

CALL FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

Calling all researchers/scientists/students!

Submit your abstracts and share your breakthroughs in diabetes research at the 11th Edition of Dr.Mohan’s International Diabetes Update which is scheduled to take place between July 26-28, 2024 at the ITC Grand Chola, Chennai, India.

Abstract Submission

Guidelines:

The Presenting Author must submit the abstract and will act as the main point of contact with the organisers.

The online abstract submission is a simple step-by-step process and will ask you to input the following details:

  • Presentation type– Oral or Poster / Poster only / Oral only
  • Themes:

    Epidemiology
    Basic Science
    Nutrition
    Physical activity
    Prevention
    Stress and mental health
    Diabetes management
    Diabetes Complications
    Comorbid conditions
    Artificial Intelligence/ Digital Health
    Newer Technology
    Latest therapeutics
    Clinical Trials and Real-World Evidence

  • Presenting Author – Name, affiliation, job title of presenting author and email address . The presenting author is required to ensure that all co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract and agree to its submission, before submitting the abstract.
  • Co-Authors– Name, affiliation, and job title of co-author(s)
  • Abstract style 


General Instructions
:

  • Ensure that your abstract presents original work that has not been previously published or presented elsewhere.
  • Abstracts should be presented in English
  • The title is limited to 20 words (Please note: The title is not included in the total word count of 300)
  • The main body of the text, that should not exceed 300 words with Arial font size 12
  • One table or figure can be included (Please note: Table or figure must be uploaded as image files. Addition of an image, whether a figure or table deducts 75 words each from the final word count limit)
  • Abstracts must contain data and meet international ethical standards.
  • Abbreviations should be defined
  • Use generic names of drugs. The presentation must be balanced and contain no commercial or promotional content.
  • Submissions may not contain patient names, hospital ID numbers or other identifying information.
  • Please proof read the abstract carefully for factual and spelling errors.
  • When submitting an abstract, make sure you click the submit button one time only. If you do not click the submit button, your abstract will not be submitted.
  • After submission, no further modification can be made.
  • All the abstracts need to be submitted through online portal on or before June 15th, 2024 (5 p.m. IST).
  • Abstracts cannot be submitted as an e-mail attachment.


Structure your abstract as follows:

  • Introduction: Provide background information and context for your study
  • Aim: State the objective or purpose of your research.
  • Methods: Describe the materials, procedures, and techniques used in your study
  • Results: Summarize the findings of your research, including any key outcomes
  • Conclusions: Present the conclusions drawn from your study and their significance


ANY ABSTRACT, WHICH DOES NOT ADHERE TO THE ABOVE GUIDELINES, WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY REJECTED

Please carefully review the following guidelines before submitting your abstract.

It is not permitted to submit work that has been published and/or is likely to be published before the DMIDU 2024 Abstract submission deadline.

There is no limit to the number of abstracts an author may submit; however, an author may only serve as the presenting author on two submissions.

It is mandatory that the presenting author of any abstract accepted for oral/poster presentation attends the meeting in-person to present and/or discuss the paper

The registration fee for DMIDU 2024 will be waived for all presenting authors with an ACCEPTED abstract

Abstract Notification:

  • Submitted abstracts will undergo a review process by a panel of experts. Ensure that your abstract meets the criteria for acceptance, including relevance, clarity, and scientific merit.
  • The scientific committee reserves the right to accept / reject / assign a different presentation type to all the abstracts submitted.
  • Authors will be notified of the acceptance status of their abstracts within the timeframe specified by the organizers. Please ensure that the contact information provided is accurate and email inboxes regularly checked.
  • If your abstract is accepted, you will be informed about the presentation format (e.g., oral presentation, poster presentation) and any specific requirements or instructions.

Awards for best oral/poster presentations

To encourage researchers, scientists and students, Dr.Mohan’s International Diabetes Update has instituted the following awards:

 Best Oral Presentations – 1st and 2nd prize
Best Poster Presentations -1st and 2nd prize

The presenting author of the concerned abstract will be eligible for the award.

Key Dates for Abstract Submission

April 11, 2024, 9 a.m. IST : Abstract submission opens
June 15, 2024, 5 p.m. IST : Abstract submission closes
June 30, 2024 : Announcement of accepted abstracts through email
Abstract submission fee : NIL
Abstract word count limit : 300 words
